Common Area Seasonal Landscape

Update : August 4, 2012 Gulf Beach Hwy.

The sidewalk work is complete except for the sprinkler system relocation. We will see the relocation start soon as a contract has already been approved for a sprinkler company to bring the system back on line.

We will start prepairing the grass areas along the sidewalk for the sowing of grass seed by killing all of the weeds and grass.

We will then sow the bare areas with a low maintenance and low watering requirement grass seed.

Our only cost on this will be the weed killer and the grass seed and time along with effort.

"WE NEED ALL OF THE HOMEOWNERS TO HELP WITH THIS WORK; THE TIME HAS LONG PASSED THAT JUST A'' "FEW"' DO ALL OF THE WORK".

"WE ALSO HAVE A HARD CORP GROUP OF GRIPPERS AND COMPLAINERS THAT DO NOTHING BUT, GRIPE AND CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR THOSE HOMEOWNERS THAT GET THE JOB DONE WITHIN THEIR LIMITATIONS OF TIME AND HEALTH CAPABILITIES. THIS SAME GROUP ALSO DOES NOTHING ELSE FOR VIZCAYA's IMPROVEMENTS BY PROVIDING ANY HELP,TIME, OR SERVICES OF ANY SORT AT ALL."

The Sago Palms on the east and west  side shrub beds in front have been removed to provide a safe exit view when entering  Gulf Beach Highway from Vizcaya Drive. They were relocated to the Vizcaya Drive common area and set to help hide the manhole cover after the removal of the large Pampas Grass patch.

The island and both bed areas will receive some attention with the setting out of new shrubs and flowers.  Our community shrub and flower Lady, Lisa has received permission to start selecting and installing new landscape foliage in these locations.

Watch for the Escambia County sidewalk building to continue along Gulfbeach Highway. The grassy area will decrease in front of Vizcaya. We will end up relocating the sprinkler system heads to cover any grass area left. This means less water and fertilizer for an HOA expense savings.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for improvement please feel free to contact the Board of Directors. Just keep in mind that we need low maintenance, low water usage, and heat/salt tolerant foliage.
